Canals : 1300m Canal

A 1300m long concrete canal has been constructed to upgrade the earlier earth canal. The substantial reductions in seepage losses translate into more water for the crops.

(1) Before : Substantial losses of water occurred in the earth canal, especially in front of high points, resulting
in deep pools developing at these points.

(2) After : A concrete canal conveys water to the cultivated lands at the rate of 90 litres per second at a gradient of 1:1500.
