Rehabilitation of outlet structures at the 'Canal dam' and 'Village dam'. Often all a dam needs to again become fully operational is for the non-functional outlet valve to be replaced - this is relatively inexpensive.

(1) Canal dam : The valve was no longer operational, and the surrounding concrete was cracked.

(2) Canal dam : The old valve is being encased in concrete - all except its front flange, which was used to attach the new valve.

(3) Canal dam : The rehabilitated outlet - water is let out into the canal system for furrow irrigation.

(4) Village dam : The valve was defective, leading to rapid flooding of the valve pit.

(5) Village dam : The walls of the valve chamber
have been raised - backfilling is in progress.

(6) Village dam : The rehabilitated outlet - a new valve with an extended spindle has been installed.
