Opening Sequence
- Remove plug using magnet at end of opening tool.
- Insert pinion of opening tool into access tube, through the spline-plate and on till it engages the teeth of the rack-lever.
- Turn the handle of the tool until the rack lever comes out of the slot in the sliding lid.
- The lid is now unlocked and may be pushed in either direction as required.
Advantages
- It is quick to unlock and minimal effort is required to push it open.
- The sliding-lid spans across the full width (or length) of the valve chamber, resulting in a relatively large opening when the lid has been slid open. Furthermore the lid maybe made relatively wide, which further increases the size of the opening. It is even possible for the lid to take the place of the roof-slab, whereby it covers the full plan area of the valve chamber! In this case the 'channels' for the wheels will be located within the walls.
- The opening tool / spline-plate combination can be uniquely customised - where hundreds of variations are possible.
